Neochori
is built low at the foot of mountain Taygetos, just 200m above sea
level, located 2km east of the 45thkm of the main road Kalamata-Areopolis.
The shadow of two neighbor mountain peeks (Kapetsoulo and Progora)
falls on Neochori every dawn, while the view to the west includes
the olive grooves, the remains of the old castle and the two beaches
of Stoupa. The view to the other side of the messinian gulf is uninterraptable
from Neochori, so it is possible that villages and cities (Methoni,
Koroni, Loga, Agios Andreas) that are built on the opposite side
of the gulf are visible especially when weather conditions are good.
