::.The Municipality of Lefktro
The Municipality of Lefktro has been
introduced under the "Ioannis Kapodistrias" programme, counts 5.908
residents and it is the second wider municipality in the prefecture
of Messinia. It is consisted of 19 formal communities and 43 settlements.
The term Lefktron comes from the Leukipos,
son of Triireas and is associated to the descent of Heraklides.
The county seat is located in Kardamili.
