Elements of palaeolithic area have
been traced in some caves as Alepotripa of Diros and Apidima of
Areopolis. In greek period (2800-2000 b.c.) have been traced some
settlements in low hills and land.

After the subordination of Greece and the fall of Mistra (1460), Mani didn't give in turkish army.
